Brooklyn Artist Dustin Yellin
The artist Dustin Yellin has created a 10-piece installation as part of his 10 pieces project, which was created by Brooklyn-based artist Dustin Yellin specifically for his solo exhibition at the GRimm Gallery in Amsterdam.
The new project includes 10 different-sized modular multi-layered glass blocks that are assembled into 6-meter-long pieces. Each layer contains many photographs that have been selected from illustrated magazines and books. Based on the historical scenes Yellin has used, she shows the entire history of the world in references to ancient cultures, religions, and art.
“The entire collage is real photographs.
But if the paper version disappears in 200 years, it will be the sports archive of our species in the media.
At this point, I’m trying to capture consciousness. My goal is to find your memories of time, experiences, your history through genetics and biology.
