David Moreno: mesmerizing architectural sculptures from steel rods
David Moreno, an artist from Barcelona, creates stunning architectural sculptures from hundreds of thin steel rods and wire. The bulky constructions look like sketches carelessly sketched with an impressionist pencil. Moreno himself defines his work as an attempt to “draw sculptures.”
Carefully placing elements, combining them with each other, the author achieves the effect of shading.
Ephemeral art objects, despite the apparent solidity of the material, seem fragile and capable of collapsing with the slightest air movement. To enhance the visual impact and give the forms a certain mood, Moreno resorts to dyeing the pieces in different colors – black and white, silver or gold, pink and orange.
