DUNE 4.1 Installation by Daan Roosegaarde in Rotterdam
DUNE 4.1 is a publicly accessible interactive installation presented within walls of Maas Tunnel. In 2007, year of architecture in Rotterdam, it decorated tunnel that runs under the Nieuwe Maas river. Through the use of innovative technology, structure responds to sounds and movements of people passing by on a daily basis on their business.
In subsequent years designers have repeatedly made changes to DUNE 4.1 and demonstrated it in different cities around the world, but essence of invention has remained same: a unique sensitive structure brings static architectural structures to life, causing an emotional response in soul of every person.
