George Condo
George Condo was born in 1957. George Condo’s work is filled with characters. His characters have bulging eyes, bulging cheeks. Drawing on a wide variety of masters of contemporary painting – such as Pablo Picasso, Diego Velázquez, Henri Matisse and Cy Twombly – Condo absorbs artistic and historical sources. George Condo creates a pictorial language. Some say the language is distinctive to him, others disagree.
George Condo calls his surrealist style “psychological cubism.”
He exploits human flaws or invisible aspects of the human being. George Kondo’s abstract works, such as Inner Space (2005), explore the farthest extremes of the human psyche
