The renowned editor Sarah Andelman, of Just an Idea Books, and artist Jean Jullien (previously) have teamed up to celebrate the joy of reading and publishing. Taking over Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Mise En Page is an exuberant literary exhibition and pop-up shop that sees Jullien’s Paper People series spring to life. Two enormous figures loom over the multi-story department store on Paris’s left bank, interrupting the typical shopping experience with their playful love for print.

Mise En Page includes a library of the artist’s monographs designed in his singular two-dimensional style, alongside kiosks from reader-favorite bookstores like The Strand and Pillow-Cat Books in New York City, Book/Shop in Oakland, and Paris’s own Ofr. Andelman also installed a selection of titles she’s worked on with Just an Idea, including five new artist volumes.

If you’re in Paris, stop by Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche before April 21 to catch Mise En Page in person.
