Coated in numerous coloured glazes, Kazuhito Kawai’s ceramic sculptures glop and ooze like vibrant, melting mounds of ice cream or sherbet. The vessel, one of the vital important varieties in ceramics, supplies a place to begin for the Ibaraki, Japan-based artist.
