The smooth pile of tufted yarn meets vibrant colour in Brussels-based artist Shishi San’s daring sculptures. She started tufting in 2019, engaged on two-dimensional items that characteristic playful flowers, bugs, and different creatures, and final 12 months, she propelled her follow into the three-dimensional realm. Impressed by the form, hues, and patterns of Chinese language vases, she started a sequence of 9 voluminous vessels that draw on conventional motifs in a group titled Fluffy. “I needed to create my very own model of them, impressed each by my very own experiences and by their visible id,” she tells Colossal.
